YCC Family Crisis Center

A domestic violence shelter and resource center serving the residents of Weber and Morgan Counties. Services offered include a sexual assault hotline, domestic violence support groups, parenting skills classes, sexual assault support groups, a child care center, legal counseling, transitional housing/shelter, crime victim support, protective/restraining orders, case/care management, and spouse/intimate partner abuse prevention programs.

Description:

The Crisis Line is available for victims of sexual assault or domestic violence. The YCC has a team of trained advocates who can offer victims support and services. Note: the sexual assault hotline phone number is different than the domestic violence hotline. It is (801) 394-6552

Description:

Free, confidential, legal advice provided by licensed volunteer attorneys. Topics covered: divorce, child support, custody, tenant housing issues, elder law, and guardianship.

Eligibility:
Be considered the victim of a crime, and that victimization has led to seeking legal assistance or have a household income below 200% of the federal poverty level.

Description:

An intermediate step between emergency crisis shelter and permanent housing. It is more long term, service intensive, and private than the emergency shelter. It is meant to provide a safe, supportive environment where residents can overcome the trauma of domestic violence, gain the skills and means to afford their housing, and begin to rebuild their support network.

Survivors of domestic violence, currently in crisis shelter, who need ongoing supportive case management and protection.

Description:

Domestic Violence class is a psycho-educational class and support group for victims of domestic violence. The class focuses on understanding the cycle of abuse, power and control, characteristics of an abuser, and how to develop healthy relationships. The classes run for 14 to 16 weeks.

Provides three nutritious meals a day along with a daily self-esteem based curriculum including art, math, language reasoning, science, nature, and diversity. Led by a well-trained staff with state licensing.
