MAG Aging and Family Services

Provides services, education and resources to empower aging adults to thrive at home and in the community. Services include: in-home respite care, area agency on aging, caregiver counseling and support groups, elder law, caregiver training, health insurance information, home delivered meals, homemaker assistance, long term ombudsman programs, help with personal care, a friendly callers program, and an RSVP program.

Friendly Outreach Programs
Description:

Matches a senior with a local volunteer for a one-on-one phone call once a week.

Eligibility:
Must be age 60 or older to receive call. Volunteers must be 21 or older and pass a background check.

Long Term Care Ombudsman Programs
Description:

Investigates and advocates on behalf of residents in long-term care facilities. Provides information to residents to help them understand their rights.

Eligibility:
Senior residents of assisted living facilities and nursing homes. Younger residents may be eligible if the issue is systematic and may affect other senior residents.

Description:

Description:

Description:

Description:

Home Delivered Meals
Description:

Meals on Wheels provides a hot, nutritious lunch to homebound seniors. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Special diets and liquid meals are available for those with special nutritional needs.

Must be age 60 or older and homebound.

Description:

Caregiver Training
Description:

Offers a variety of classes for caregivers on topics relevant to seniors and caregivers such as avoiding scams, finding community resources, navigating long-term care facilities, dealing with dementia, and stress-reduction techniques for those caring for someone with a chronic illness or dementia. Classes are offered in-person and virtually.

Adult In Home Respite Care
Description:

Provides short-term, in-home services to those who serve as a caregiver to someone over the age of 60.

Call for more information. An intake assessment is taken over the phone. For those needing in-home respite, prior to receiving services an in-home assessment will be completed to verify eligibility and further assess needs.
