Salt Lake City Mission

Provides services and programs to men, women, and children in the Salt Lake City area to help them overcome cycles of poverty, homelessness, hopelessness, and addictions. Services offered include a food pantry, a general clothing provision (clothing room), a residential substance use disorder treatment facility/program for adult men, a soup kitchen, street outreach programs, a homeless drop-in center, clothing donation programs, and food donation programs.

Soup Kitchens
Description:

Provides hot meals and day bags with sandwiches, protein bars and water to anyone hungry or homeless. Can provide refrigerated food those coming in after hours.

General Clothing Provision
Description:

Provides gently used clothing to people in need including winter coats, pants, shirts, shoes, socks, etc. for men, women, and children.

People in need. Primarily unsheltered individuals and families.

Street Outreach Programs
Description:

The program provides outreach services to unsheltered people at the Weigand center 8 - 9 am with coffee and donuts. Also, it hosts holiday events throughout the city inviting the hungry and unsheltered.

Residential Substance Use Disorder Treatment Facilities
Description:

A residential life recovery program for men who have substance abuse issues or are chronically mentally ill and have a significant history of homelessness.

Eligibility:
Open for adult men, contact for additional eligibility details.

Food Pantries
Description:

Provides emergency food boxes to people in need including unsheltered individuals and families. Clients may receive a food box twice a month

Homeless Drop In Centers
Description:

Provides a day center where unsheltered individuals and families may receive various types of assistance and services.

Clothing Donation Programs
Description:

Accepts gently used men's, women's, and children's clothing donations of all sizes including coats, jackets, pants, shirts, shoes, etc.

Food Donation Programs
Description:

Accepts nonperishable food item donations used for food box distribution to needy people. Requested donations include canned meats, tuna, beans, jelly, pasta sauce, frozen bread and rolls, meat and whole chicken, cooking spices, condiments, oils, flour, and sugar.
