Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah

Provides programs for those who are low-income to build a home or repair the current home through home maintenance and minor repair services, home rehabilitation services, and a sweat equity program.

Home Maintenance and Minor Repair Services
Description:

A Brush with Kindness is designed to preserve homeownership through a partnership with homeowners who labor to keep up with home repairs and maintenance due to lack of income.

Eligibility:
Individuals must own and live in a home in Washington County, demonstrate a need for exterior home repairs or maintenance, be willing to participate in the project and be able to contribute to the cost of materials.
Service Hours:
M - F 9 am - 6 pm
Intake Procedure:
Application is available online.
Fees:
Individuals contribute to the cost of the materials for the project. Habitat may provide zero-interest financing and flexible terms.

Home Rehabilitation Services
Description:

Provides a home repair program so low-income homeowners can live in safe and well-maintained homes.

Eligibility:
Low-income homeowners in Washington County that have a need for home repair.
Service Hours:
M - F 9 am - 6 pm

Application is available online.
Fees:
Individuals contribute to the cost of the materials for the project. Habitat may provide zero-interest financing and flexible terms.

Sweat Equity Programs
Description:

Provides a way for low-income families to own a home through a sweat equity program. Families pay a down payment and a monthly mortgage that goes into a revolving fund used to build houses for other families.

Eligibility:
Qualifications based on need, ability to pay, and willingness to partner with Habitat. Need qualifications include having lived or worked for at least one year in Washington County, earning no more than 30-60% of the area median income, be willing to complete required sweat equity hours.

M - F 9 am - 6 pm
Intake Procedure:
Family selection occurs once a year. To be notified of the family selection meeting visit website and fill out the Housing Interest Form.
Fees:
No cost to apply. Homeowners have a monthly mortgage payment based on family size and income.
