Community Support Services - St George

Provides services for low-income individuals and families to be more self-sustaining. Services include birth certificate and driver's license fee payment assistance, bus fare, court-ordered community service referral program, discounted internet service, homeless diversion program, mortgage payment assistance, rental payment and deposit assistance, and utility payment assistance.

Bus Fare
Description:

Provides bus fare for those seeking assistance with transportation to work.

Eligibility:
For households under 200% federal poverty limit who are looking for or trying to maintain employment.

Rental Deposit Assistance
Description:

Provides one-time rental deposit assistance to those who qualify. The rental, with utilities, cannot exceed 50% of the household income.

Eligibility:
For households under the 200% federal poverty limit.

Rent Payment Assistance
Description:

Offers rent payment assistance to individuals and families who qualify. May help up to 4 months. Limited spots. Out of funding until May 2026.

Eligibility:
Must be within the 200% poverty level bracket.

M - Th 7 am – 12 Noon & 1 - 5:30 pm
Intake Procedure:
Apply online or call the St. George CAP office to schedule an appointment with a case manager. If a client is not close to the office a visit closer to their location may be made.

Utility Service Payment Assistance
Description:

Provides water payment assistance to those who qualify.

Eligibility:
For households under the 150% federal poverty limit.

Discounted Internet Service
Description:

Provides $30 discount per month for mobile or home internet to low-income households.

Eligibility:
Must be below 200 % of federal poverty line.

Mortgage Payment Assistance
Description:

Provides mortgage payment, HOA fee, and property tax payment assistance to those who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.

Eligibility:
Must be able to show they've been negatively impacted by COVID-19. Must be 30 days or more behind mortgage payment. Must be part of a priority population (Native American, African American, Latino). Must be below 150% federal poverty line.

Homeless Diversion Programs
Description:

Provides rapid rehousing for those who are currently homeless and meet qualifications. Availability dependent on funding.

Eligibility:
For individuals who are homeless. Can be in a homeless shelter and still qualify.

Court Ordered Community Service Referral Programs
Description:

Provides court-appointed service packets to individuals who have been charged by the court to complete volunteer hours in lieu of a fine or punishment.

Eligibility:
Individuals with court-appointed service hours.
Service Hours:
M - Th 7 am – 12 Noon & 1 - 5:30 pm
Intake Procedure:
Call or walk in.
Fees:
$1 for every hour assigned, up to 50 hours.
