An extension of city and county governments in Box Elder, Cache, and Rich Counties that provides regional planning and development and a wide array of services for low-income households, seniors, and people with disabilities.
Administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program, formerly known as Section 8. Provides monthly long-term rental assistance to eligible households. The Housing Authority does not own any housing. Clients must locate their own approved housing.
Short Term Assistance for Rent (START) Program provides short-term rental assistance to low-income families experiencing homelessness and those who are at risk for homelessness.
Provides first time home buyer education and up to $3000 in closing costs or down payment assistance. Assistance is provided as a zero-interest, deferred loan, and applicants are required to participate in a first time home buyer workshop.
Provides cost-effective home improvements and energy audits. Repairs and upgrades decrease energy costs, increase energy efficiency, and improve indoor air quality. May provide a new furnace in certain circumstances.
Provides a grant up to $4500 per household ($6500 in Box Elder County) for minor home repairs that, if neglected, pose a potential health and safety threat. Typical projects include roof repairs, bathroom repairs, ADA accessibility improvements, correction of faulty electrical systems, septic system repairs, and individual culinary water hook-up repairs.
The mobility team provides information and assistance for transportation resources. Reimbursement program available for those who qualify.
Offers year-round energy assistance and crisis aid to eligible low-income households statewide in Utah. Program operates annually from October 1 to September 30, providing a one-time benefit per household, covering up to two utility accounts. Also administers the Utility Moratorium Program, preventing winter utility shut-offs between November 15 and March 15. Additionally, eligible individuals may qualify for water and/or cooling payment assistance for a limited time.
Provides detailed information or to connect a veteran or caregiver of a veteran to veteran's benefits and services.
Services encompass information, counseling, support groups, training, respite, and limited medical equipment/supply provision for individuals aged 60 and above, along with their families and caregivers.
