Carbon/Emery County Children's Justice Center

A home-like facility that serves children who might have been victims of child abuse and/or neglect. Children and the non-offending caretaker visit the center to receive a multi faceted approach to the treatment and investigation into the allegations of child abuse and/or neglect. Services offered are counseling, medical evaluations, and child abuse reporting and response.

Description:

Process designed to help children feel safe and comfortable while they are being interviewed regarding alleged abuse. Audio and video equipment is used to preserve the interview for evidence and eliminate the need for multiple interviews. A multi-disciplinary team coordinates the interview process and assesses the needs of the children and the families for support services.

Description:

A medical evaluation offered on all children brought to the Children's Justice Center for child abuse allegations. Medical evaluation consists of well child checks, education, and may involve a child sexual abuse exam.
