Provides online training that is required annually for daycare providers that participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Topics covered include program approval requirements, children with special needs or disabilities, safe food handling, the signs and symptoms of child abuse, preventing shaken baby syndrome, principles of growth and development, recognizing signs of homelessness, prevention of infectious diseases, prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, and cultural competencies.
Administers the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) in Utah. The program provides monthly reimbursements to qualified day providers for nutritious, healthful meals they serve to children who attend daycare. Participating daycare providers and centers may be reimbursed for up to two meals and one snack per child daily.
