Housing Rehabilitation Program

Salt Lake County administers grant funds from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to homeowners, renters, and landlords to control or remove lead paint hazards in housing built before 1978. Provides lead abatement and home rehabilitation services.

Description:

Provides grants to control or remove lead paint hazards in housing built before 1978. Services include visual inspection of painted surfaces, risk evaluation, identification of hazards, dust sampling, lab analysis, blood tests for children, education, and remediation of lead hazards.

Eligibility:
Pregnant woman or child under 6 years living in or often visiting home. Income at or below 80% of area median income. Property must be properly insured.

Provides critical home repairs. Services include air conditioning and heating repair, mold remediation, accessible bathroom changes, ramps, and other barrier removal services. They are able to assist both those who own and rent the property.
