Promise South Salt Lake

A department of the City of South Salt Lake that provides specialized youth and adult community programming with an education and prevention focus at 14 neighborhood centers throughout the city. Services include community summer school, youth enrichment programs, community information and referral services, computer literacy training, community adult schools, and job training formats.

Computer Literacy Training Programs
Description:

The Teen Tech Center provides members a space filled with technology that members can use as tools to complete passion projects, such as making music, creating multimedia art, designing 3D objects, and much more. A safe space for teens to be themselves through collaboration and creativity.

Eligibility:
Open to all Salt Lake County youth, 13 - 18 years old.

Comprehensive Information and Referral
Description:

The Family and Community Engagement Team is available to support families and youth to thrive in South Salt Lake and can help facilitate access to various community resources and programs.

Youth Enrichment Programs
Description:

Each day includes snack and dinner services, homework help or tutoring, enrichment activities which include; model prevention programming, art, STEM, recreation, service learning, and college and career prep. The programs are supported by staff trained in best practices, college mentors and volunteers, and programming partners.

Eligibility:
Grades K-12 including those who are home-schooled. South Salt Lake residents given preference. Must attend at assigned school. Boxing Program is for those 8 - 18 years of age.

Description:

Full day summer programs for students entering 1st -12th grades are provided for youth and their families who live, learn, work, play in South Salt Lake.

Community Adult Schools
Description:

The Co-Op is a space to connect, work, learn, and grow located inside the South Salt Lake Community Center. Provides education and other resources for digital inclusion, financial empowerment, career and business advancement, and basic needs services.

All Salt Lake County residents.

Job Training Formats
Description:

The Workforce Inclusion and Successful Employment (WISE) Program is for individuals who are committed to setting goals and completing tasks towards career advancement outcomes.

Eligibility:
Open to all Salt Lake County residents with household income at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Description:

The Baby and You program offers a 9 week course for educating new parents, covering topics of development and discipline, while also fostering community connections. Operates with support from Promise Partnership Utah.
