Utah Community Action

A community action agency that provides a wide range of services for people in Salt Lake County and surrounding areas. Offers vocational education, a weatherization program, limited rent payment assistance and rental deposit assistance, landlord/tenant dispute resolution services, tenant readiness education programs, and a homeless diversion/service hotline helping unhoused clients access services including shelter beds. Also, provides criminal record expungement assistance to qualified individuals.

Homeless Diversion Programs
Description:

Resource center-based caseworkers answer the homeless services phone line and help clients access homeless resources, including shelter beds.

Weatherization Programs
Description:

Offers home inspections and energy audits, with follow-up installation of energy improvements for qualifying households.

Eligibility:
Households with a total income less than 200% of the federal poverty line. Not all types of housing qualify for the program.

Criminal Record Expungement Assistance
Description:

Utah Community Action and Rasa Legal partner to provide criminal record expungement assistance to justice-impacted individuals by providing legal services throughout the expungement process. Also, provides payment assistance for any related fees.

Landlord/Tenant Dispute Resolution
Description:

Helps resolve conflicts and answer questions between landlords and tenants in areas such as security deposits, eviction attempts, lease issues, and repairs. The landlord tenant mediator is a neutral 3rd party.
